Motor
bike Ride preparation and Packing your Stuff:
In Long Distance Motor Bike Ride first and foremost 2 things are important i.e. Rider and Motorbike.
Rider:
1.
Physical
Health: You must be in a good physical
condition more specifically from riding point of view especially your back,
knee, Neck, Shoulder. Beside if you are riding through High Mountain passes
then your respiration system should be good enough. Check your Blood Pressure
levels.
2. Mental Health: Motor
Bike ride comes with unpredictable situation leading to mental stress. At times
you fill that it was a wrong decision to come for a ride. So you need to have a
strong mental state to complete the ride.
3.
Financial
Health: You should plan your ride properly after
checking the bank statements. It can’t be a cut to cut budget. It cannot be.
You may have a broad budget in your mind and you should strive to be around
that. But you need to have free play to match the unpredicted situations.
4.
Disaster Management Skills: Riding bike is not only sufficient for a long bike
ride. You travel through cold deserts, high mountain passes, dense forests,
crowded cities, crossing rivers and so on. Disaster is an event, natural or
man-made, sudden or progressive, which impacts with such severity that the
affected community has to respond by taking exceptional measures. I was lucky
to complete my Basic Disaster Management Course free of cost at http://www.aniruddhasadm.com/ . Aniruddha's Academy of Disaster Management's mission is to
prepare every individual of our country, irrespective of nationality, caste,
creed, or religion, in the management of disasters, natural or man-made. Focus
of training is preparing and equipping the participants in:
·
Rescue
Methods (Application of Rope / Knots, bands and hitches)
·
Primary First aid
·
Cardio Pulmonary Cerebral Resuscitation (CPCR) until medical help arrives.
This not only curtails
the damage caused by the disaster but also goes a long way in saving life. Nowadays the institute also impart the corporate course.
Motorbike:
Thorough
check-up need to be done through a good mechanic.
1. Engine: Check for Engine sound. There should not be any
sound which not familiar to you.
2. Clutch: Check clutch plates and pressure plates.
3. Tyre: Always check the rubber… Grip should be good
enough to take on any road condition. Tyre Tubes should be of butyl quality
only.
4. Chain sprocket: Always check the tension of chain, teeth of
sprocket, lubrication.
5. Battery, Lights and
wiring: Check for headlight bulb, all indicators,
Switches, Fuse etc. most importantly the wiring. Get your battery checked
before you ride on…
Packing
your Stuff:
It is most confusing
but very crucial to know what should be taken with during ride. Use a good
quality Saddle Bag. Again let’s have 2 parts (Rider and Motorbike) for this
section as well.
